lol... some phat head went and sent me one of those Phishing Scam emails trying to get me to send them my account information. Too bad I don't have ANY Citibank accounts anywhere!

If you ever get anything like this, DON'T give them your information!!! If you have an account with the bank then the bank will most certainly have your information and will never contact you asking for it. If you do give them your account information, expect to loose all of your money and have all sorts of credit cards and other types of accounts opened in your name... basically your credit will be ruined.

Here is the email that was sent to me...

Here is the website that I was sent to when I clicked on the email. It also opened another web page to the legitimate Citibank web site to make it look legit.

Sadly these shysters must think it's worth their efforts - I wonder just how many are duped?

It would be a great idea if you forwarded the e-mail to the real Citibank website's fraud investigation unit.

The scam must work at least sometimes.... otherwise they wouldn't bother.

I got that email too. Along with one supposedly from Bank of America, Regions Bank and US Bank. The scammers send these out 'blind.' They'll hit a few people with the right bank and of those enough respond to make it worth their while. I bank with US Bank and forwarded that one to their Fraud Team.

Thanks for sharing Elsewhere. It's good to know what they're all about when you get one.

Yeah, just the other night there was a bit on the news about this type of "trolling"; just send out a convincing e-mail, and even if you only get 1/1000 responses, you still get a buttload of money out of those compromised accounts.

I got one like that that was supposed to be from AOL, had their real logo on it and everything. Wanted me to verify billing information. I checked with AOL, and they did not send it, they had some fraud area where they asked me to forward it for investigation.
