Please be careful and know that our thoughts are with you ! It's awful that this is happening again so soon after the last hurricane just a few weeks ago.

Sending positive thoughts to the south and hoping Frances is not as bad as they are expecting it to be.

Thanks. We are pretty well prepared. We will board up our windows tomorrow, have plenty of water, a generator, etc. We are north of the predicted eye but we will definitely get hurricane force winds of about 90 miles an hour. Our house made it through Charley with only a few trees leaning, I feel pretty confident it will be okay, unless Frances decides to go north before making landfall.

Looks like Hurricane Francis is coming ashore a bit earlier than expected.

It was thought that the hurricane would slow down but in fact has sped up.

Expected to hit Florida tomorrow (Friday) afternoon.

2.5 million people asked to evacuate. The news shows all the roads are clogged in Florida with people trying to evacuate by heading North.

Hurricane Frances is 2 or 3 times larger than Hurricane Charley and because it is speeding up could surpass Category 4.

Convoys of amublance are transporting patients from some of the hospitals and some are being air lifted out of the dangerous areas.

How terrible. I feel for all of you in Florida.

So glad we and our family are all here in the Northwest............no hurricanes, no tornadoes (well.............a couple of small ones this year, but they were the first in my memory). We do get an occasional earthquake, enough to scare the beejeebers out of you, but only 3 in my lifetime............biggies though.

I'll be watching the news about Frances.
