As I had stopped going to meetings and had previously been cought associating with the forbidden ones, I was being watched. My parents were happy to assist the elders as they were concerned for my well-being. Being only 17 I hadn't yet developed the courage to tell everyone to take off, or to just take off myself. Now there was a certain house in the area that was a JW kid party house. I had never been to the house. One youngster had a nagging concience about all these young dubs doing drugs, drinking having sex and so on at this house and reported it to the elders. Once this came out, the JW grapevine started and heads had to roll! In my hall alone there were 6 kids involved in this, all elders kids. I wasn't an elders kid. The head that rolled was mine, here's how it went. One afternoon I was at home with my roommate watching TV and there was a knock at the door. To our surprise at the door were the 2 elders that had chased us in their car only a few month prior causing us to crash into a pole. They invited themselves in to discuss things with us. They discussed their concerns that we weren't going to meetings and in regards to our association. Then they brought out the physical evidence. An ashtray with cigarette butts in it, lighters, forbidden CD's, concert ticket stubs, empty and full bottles of alcohol and a book of different things I had written down. My loving parents had given them access to my apartment to conduct a search for forbidden items. My friend and I could not believe what they had done! We had a reason for everything, but it didn't make much difference. I was sent infront of a JC and disfellowshipped for "Loose Conduct" which as I understand it, means "We couldn't get you on anything, so we'll say you have an attitude that sucks". I appealed, and the appeal committee met and read the minutes from my JC meeting. They were so far off! I objected to the notes and how they were inaccurate but to no avail, the decision was upheld. After the announcement the grapevine got going again. Everyone was so impressed with the elders for taking swift action against me for using drugs, drinking and having sex at the party house. If only they knew. BAAA, Here's me the sacrificial lamb! Or would that be a sacrificial goat???
