My favorite is currently....The Transfiguration of Vincent by M. Ward
I thought nobody heard of him, then I got freaked out when they played him on HBO! Very addictive album, lots of catchy folk tunes, includes a great rendition of Bowie's "Let's Dance". What's your favorite....so far....
As for releases this year, there is nothing. For CDs that I've bought, I got the Buck Dharma (singer & guitarist of Blue Oyster Cult) Archive Series. 4 CDs in total, and I love them.
The most recent release that I enjoy is Jet's Get Born album (released last year).

This is definately not the best stuff I've been listening to lately, but its probably the best new stuff out there this year that I've heard. I'm split between the two..
