I think David trusted in himself. He was (if the accounts are credible) a successful warrior, and as such he got to write the chronicles to make sure he got proper credit.
He comes across as a tyrant to me.

I know an older sister that is utterly, 100% faithful. She got a copy of the Noah video
and was embarassed by its poor quality. The idiots at the Society are so content to live
in their ivory tower, they fail to notice a world full of quality animation like Pixar - either that
or they believe they can pawn off any junk to the friends and have them obseqiously squeal
in approval.
