Happy Halloween everyone!
I can't wait to take my son trick-or-treating today, but this is my first year dressing up, too.
My question is, can I bring a bucket to collect candy, too? I mean, I am dressing up and all so does that entitle me to bring a bucket? Or is that tacky or am I too old, or is that against some unwritten Halloween rule?

lol Too bad you don't live near me because I would give you candy. Some people you will encounter will probably give you an odd look and some may comment "Aren't you a bit too old for candy". I say this because your profile says your 25.
HOWEVER, it depends on your costume. If it can make you look like a teen you'll be okay. One other thing is you could just be honest and say that "The fun of Halloween was deprived from your childhood". Most people when they hear that will heap kindness on you and give you extra candy even.
I give candy to anyone with a bag, even older teens who aren't in a costume. But, that's just me.

I agree. I find most people are so sympathetic and I can also get a good "witness" in....for people not to get involved with the JW's. lol

I don't go out trick or treating, at my age that really would be pushing it. But I do dress up in full costume to answer the door and my house is decorated! This year I have bleary scary eye icicle lights and a mason jar full of shrunken heads in my front window, not to mention the usual bats, spiders, pumpkins, etc... Very fun.
I tell everyone I did not get to experience this (my favorite holiday) during my youth and I am MORE than making up for it. People think that explains the exuberance! They don't know that I'm nuts that way anyway! lolol

I wasn't sure what the rule was, either. I laid in a big supply of candy, and anyone who came to my door got a big handful, including the parents and sullen teenage siblings accompanying the trick-or-treaters. Heck, even my boyfriend got some candy, and he's an old fella with white hair! You're never too old for candy.
