Taken from the Nov. 2004 AARP Bulletin:

"If you've added your phone numbers to the federal government's Do Not Call Registry in the

past year, chances are you've experienced a blissful treat: the chance for dinnertime

conversations with friends or family rather than with a platoon of pushy telemarketers.

And now some communities are extending the zone of privacy by creating a "do-not-knock"

list as a means of keeping door-to-door solicitors at bay. The new ordinances typically

include exemptions for cookie-bearing Girl Scouts and other nonprofessional solicitors"

This is an excellent opportunity to remind such communities ( if you live near one)

that Watchtower-related pests can be kept from the door by using No Trespassing

signs or specific do not call lists naming Witnesses.

Such lists may force Witnesses to do more informal Witnessing with the Bible directly,

a book they are increasingly unfamiliar with ( hence the disappearance of the "Written

    Review").

Have they really done away with the written review? I always thought it was kinda silly. Its funny too because if we knew we were going to have written review that was an night to stay home and watch TV. LOL LOL It is hard to believe the things we did out of fear of the great god jehover.

Nawww, they'll just hand out tracts...

Ah, the end of an era...

I believe they have replace the "written review"ith an "oral" review. Part of the "dumbing down" strategy.

yeah, written review is gone, now we have the "oral review", wich is basically the same, just without the writing part... don't you miss the "underline one of three" part?

it would be a interesting project to contact local newspapers with tips on how to answer JWs, or at least, how to get rid of JWs, with in depth information on how the door-to-door preaching works... if the newspaper would print the article, we'd soon have another date for armageddon.

I remember being out in service and hearing their creative was of reasoning that the signs on people's doors do not refer to them, thus they could annoy "the householder". (i.e., they weren't selling anything, thus they were not counted as solicitors.) Talk about stupid. Like they can't understand the jist of the damn sign.

I didn't realize the written review was gone. (I seem to have missed a few meetings lately).

As I recall, there was a time when the written review was given monthly. Then it went to quarterly. I don't imaginge anyone will miss it too much, except for the conductor. It must be hell trying to find someone who knows the answer in the oral review.
