He's going to be speaking at Copperfield's books in Sebastopol on Monday 7/9 at 7pm. Link to Copperfield's at: http://www.copperfields.net/NASApp/store/IndexJsp and a short bio on him can be found at http://home.att.net/~betsy50/Smith_bio.htm

    Thanks, Intro

for posting Mr. Smith's bio link. I had never heard of him, but the quote alone from The World's Religions makes me want to read his work.

I shall look for it on my next visit to the library.

Ever stop to think, and forget to start again?

Hi Out, yes The World's Religions is a very good book, apparently it is widely used as an undergraduate text in comparative religion courses.

Not to detract from his credibility or anything, but I picked up a recent book of his on entheogenic plants: Cleansing the Doors of Perception. If it wasn't from him I don't think I would have looked into it. (besides it was a remainder copy for $5) Anyhow, if you're able to find TWR at the library let me know how you like it.
