I finally got to meet up with my best friend this weekend, and while having lunch with him at an ocean front restaurant, got to see a 3-masted schooner on the horizon, heading out to sea. What a sight that was !!

It was a beautiful day, and a bit breezy, which was ideal for the schooner. I think it was the Arabella, out of Newport, Rhode Island, and could have been heading for the Caribean for the winter months. I looked it up and found this site, which I am going to attempt to put the link in here. Wish me luck, as I never was able to link anything into this forum yet. I'll tell you how I'm doing it, so if it works, you'll find an easy way of linking into the forum.

I am going to click and drag it from my "favorite places", and hopefully it will be right here. Here goes..... Nope, won't work. Okay, anyone interested, just type in "ARABELLA sailing cruise yacht" and you should find it.... Enjoy

    I love sailing. I have a small 14' sailboat, 2 kayaks and a canoe.

My pipe-dream is to go on one of those Sailing vacations where you are part of the crew.

This is what happens when you watch too many episodes of Miami Vice.

I love sailing! I have friends who live near Tampa on the Little Manatee river. They have a large catamaran and we go down from time to time and sail with them. We sail down the river to Tampa Bay and it's just gorgeous! That's where we spent 4th of July weekend. We'd get up, eat breakfast, get on the boat, sail until the afternoon thunderstorms gathered, sailed home, shower, eat, flop on the couches and get up to do it all over again the next day! On the 4th we sailed across the bay to St. Pete and watched the fireworks from the boat. They also have a pedal kayak we took along to scoot around the bay from boat to boat.

I'd also love to do one of those cruises where you're part of the crew. That would be a blast.
