If you don't want to share in the preaching work, don't become an opposer of it. Why should you try to hinder those who are doing so? No one of us is interfering with what you're doing. This is supposed to be a free country. Are we not entitled to exercise our freedom to do a good work?

How can your life be happy if it is devoted to the damaging & destruction of others, verbally or otherwise? This is not the activity of a wise person. Gamaliel the law teacher said to 'Leave them alone. If this work is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them, otherwise you may be
found fighters actually against God'. Is there not enough to keep busy that you'd involve yourself with opposers in a bad work? That would be a shameful waste of time and energy that could be invested in something productive. - Pink's mother

I have exchanged a few emails with mother recently and the above is an except of one of her latest. I thought about it a lot. "IF this work is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them." I think that is the most true statement I have heard. I do believe that God is not with the Watchtower Soceity. I do believe there are a few honest JWs that are trying to do what they believe is the best but the organization as a whole I do not believe is being led by God.

Therefore, they at some point will be overthrown.

I am going to tell her to follow those very words herself and leave me alone because she might be fighting against God herself.

It's hard to argue with someone who is completely convinced that they are right about everything and everyone who challenges them is wrong about everything. Note how she asks for the freedom of her rights to preach but does not wish to extend this exact same freedom of your rights of free speech in challenging them.

Many JWs are like this. Their thinking is twisted. I believe that one of the brainwashing techniques of the WT is to convince it's members to suspend common sense. That way they will believe whatever BS is thrown at them by the WT. Also they will always view that they are being persecuted even during times when they are the ones who are doing the persecuting (i.e child abuse issues and silentlambs).

Such freedoms apply to all people. They have the freedom to preach. We have an equal freedom to warn others of dangerous, abusive cults.

How can your life be happy if it is devoted to the damaging & destruction of others, verbally or otherwise?

How can a JW life be happy when it is devoted to criticizing and preaching denunciations against all other religions, governments, and essentially EVERYONE who is not one of them? How can they call themselves happy when the single most important thing in their lives is the butchering of billions of innocent people?

Is there not enough to keep busy that you'd involve yourself with opposers in a bad work?

Opposing an organization that protects child rapists is not a bad work.

Gamaliel the law teacher said to 'Leave them alone. If this work is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them, otherwise you may be
    found fighters actually against God'.

I can think of a great many organizations that have been in existence for hundreds of years. Some of them oppose each other, yet they continue to exist. The Catholic church continues to exist despite repeated attacks by the Watchtower. The fact that their organization still exists is not evidence of God's approval. If it were, every organization on earth could make a similar claim.

The best line was when she told me

you should remember that Satan was the first opposer, and the word opposer means 'devil'.

I then looked it up online and said ... UH NO, the word opposer doesn't mean devil at all mom. Hello, like she didn't think I would actually email her back with the dictionary definition.

1 : to place opposite or against something
2 : to place over against something so as to provide resistance, counterbalance, or contrast
3 : to offer resistance to

It doesn't say devil anywhere. I love she uses the words "devil" and "satan" all the time like I am supposed to be scared.

    Pink-

What are you doing that makes her thinking you are fighting against God? Are you actively trying to get people to not go in "field service"?

    LOL!! That "tickled" me.

All I keep doing is telling her, and her only, that is not what I believe. She can't handle it.

I was thinking of sending her a christmas card this year, then she'd really freak out.

In a way your mother is right but then again in a way she is wrong. Now that I've clearly stated my position I would say that everyone is entitled to defend their beliefs. If a person believes the WTS is lying, hypocritical, Orwellian, controlling, etc...then they are entitled to say so. Why would your mother have a problem with that (what's good for the goose is good for the gander, right?)

Listen to iiz2cool... to made some excellent points!

Unless that JW things that the organization is god, then they have no foot to stand on. If that JW does not think the organization is god, then you are not attacking god.
