Middle eastern males - founders of bible

I am not any history major, but I had a thought last night about the Bible and Christianity.

The Bible was written by 40 different men from the Middle East region of the world. Jesus Christ himself was a Middle Eastern man.

Currently the US and countries are battling certain parts of the Middle East. Women are becoming more and more informed about the brutality committed against women in those parts of the world, and the social control the man have against the women and children. Most modern Westerners don't adhere to their cultural philosophies or religious views.

What if we looked at the fact that mostly Middle Eastern men from thousands of years ago wrote the bible and that Christianity itself is based on a man that was fighting those very traditions, trying to make it better for his people. What if looking at their modern society we realized that they exert a lot of social control and that mimics a lot of what is written in the Bible.

What if we gave up their ideology and came up with our own "Bible" something written by religious leaders from the Western world that incorporated thoughts, views, philosophy, religious ideas and was written in clear english with no hidden meanings, with NO book of Revelation, that didn't offer an answer to the end of the world questions, but rather more of a guidebook on living life the best way possible, that centered on the Golden Rule and left the idea of Heaven up to the individual. Something that broke free from the old and provided everyone a more loving book not based on the history of war.

    What if?

I agree. Someone should write a bible in plain english, and to hell with the traditions of middle eastern men. It should focus on Canadian men now, and what WE want!

Canada can be god's new chosen nation!

When a Lakota (Sioux Indian) friend was invited to join the Baha'i faith that a number of his friends belonged to, his answer was something to the effect of "why would I want to join another man-made religion from the middle east when the Lakota have a perfectly good spirit-inspired religion?"

In my experience Jewish men tend to have a higher respect for women than Islamic men. I've had more problems with individual men of middle-east decent who were of Islamic faith, than I've had with most any other males.

Paul, a gentile roman, hated women. He didn't believe in marriage unless you just had to have sex.

I understand what you're getting at, but why do we need a new bible? A cannon of books to guide us to god? It would be just another human written tool used for control purposes.

    Peace

Why do we need another book?

This one wouldn't claim to be divinely inspired of god, it would merely be a compilation of thoughts written by men and women providing some enlightenment, not to control anyone or to offer condemnation from God if not followed. Also, a lot of people tend to NEED a book of sorts, some guidelines, I think the minority are the people are self-sufficient in their faith/beliefs/disbeliefs not to need something tangible to hold in their hands and read.
