Reading about this made me glad that I didn't go out on service (disturbing people on their holiday celebration) that day.

This is why I don't want my kids to be door to door book salespeople. It can obviously be a dangerous job. My parents took me in unpaid religious literature distribution work door to door at age 7 and I was encouraged to go to stranger's doors alone at a very young age because more territory could be covered in one day. I might be the only person on the planet that had that experience but I seriously doubt it.

One Witness girl I know was struck by a woman at a door. She wasn't seriously hurt but it was clearly a case of assault. To my knowledge she never reported it to the police.

I hope the woman who was attacked decides to find a safer line of work. Maybe she could do volunteer work in a hospital or something.

A 52-year-old Jehovah?s Witness out visiting homes on Christmas Day was reportedly attacked by a knife-wielding woman who claimed the victim was a burglar with a key to her home.
Cathy Infusino, 51, of San Bruno, was arrested on one count of assault with a deadly weapon following the scuffle. On Monday, she pleaded not guilty and returns to court in two weeks for a preliminary hearing.
At 2 p.m. Dec. 25, the victim approached Infusino?s apartment unit in the 200 block of East Avenue after mistaking it for a different residence. The woman apologized but Infusino began screaming and tried to drag her into the apartment, prosecutors said.
During the struggle, Infusino was armed with a butcher?s knife and held it at the woman?s throat, according to a San Bruno police report. The woman was able to escape but cut her hand, police reported.
When San Bruno police responded to the victim?s call for help, Infusino allegedly told them the woman was a burglar with a key to her home. Infusino was arrested.
The victim couldn?t be certain the minor cut on her hand happened during the struggle. She did not require medical care.
Prosecutors are still waiting to learn if Infusino knew the victim was a Jehovah?s Witness. If so, the attack could be labeled a hate crime.
Infusino remains in custody in lieu of $10,000 bail.
