Is it just me, or do the illustrations in the Watchtower and other related material have an eerie, almost ghostlike appearance? Especially the ones that depict the New System.
The spirit that's reflected in them is of an almost mindless, robotic stepford wives type of mentallity, or maybe IRobot, I don't know. Is it just me? Looking at the ones of late really give me the willies.
Very much like looking at the pics of heaven in other religious books do you think anyone really believes that they will ever be in such a place... it's otherworld because it's so false...
Yeah "Stepford Wives" is an apt description....and understandable too, since all those resurrected loved ones are really CLONES....
I love the older paintings from Roman artists who depict heaven in the upper half of the paintings and then a horrid painful hell below with suffering. Those pictures always crack me up because it affects you emotionally and some people actually lived their lives in fear of what is basically a cartoon.
So many pictures or paintings are created to incite an emotional response, instill fear, awe, or whatever... the WTS's art always looked silly to me.
i agree.....and everyone has that frozen in place Colgate smile....like they all went to see Joan River's plastic surgeon....and they always have their arm or hand extended....as to say "See....look at this....we told you!"
