What was your biggest intelectual/philosophical/psychological/religious discovery of the year 2004?
Was there anything new that you "understood" about our existence? Did you learn something new about human relations or your spirituality? Did you do any research and come up with interesting conclusions? Was there a major breakthrough that taught you somethingnew? Can others benefit from your discovery? Or is it strictly personal?

I realized that there was no spirit creature watching me, poised to condemn or praise me. When that belief left me, it took guilt, fear, and so much more away with it. I am so much happier now. 2005's gonna have to really kick butt to cover the ground 2004 did!
(And my wife left the bOrg with me!)

Dave,
I had very similar experiences last year. I had known the doctrine was bogus long before, but somehow it was only last year that I stoppped fooling myself altogether and left the org. What I needed to realize was that the kind of relations I had with other witnesses weren't worth a penny because most of them would shun me if I expressed my disagreement with one point of doctrine or another. And my wife has joined me on my way out too!

That having a girlfriend rocks!
No, but seriously, I feel like in the past few months I've shed all sorts of Witness paradigms regarding the ways I understood and related to the opposite sex, even though I thought I was pretty healthy to begin with. (Don't we all, though?) All in all, It's been quite a pleasant learning experience. Plus, sex totally rocks!

My biggest discovery - finding Gadget and discovering that relationships can actually be fun and fulfilling - and that whilst I was okay trundling along on my own, life is much nicer when you have someone to share it with.
Sorry hun, hope that doesn't embarass you too much, lol , love ya !.
