  I am solidly in favor of this research. Slippery slope fundy religious argumentations sway me not one whit.

  Religion. Always, I mean ALWAYS, against progress, against simple human goodness.

  Fuck whoever wrote this and fuck his or her blind devotion to an ancient text in which God condones the rape of children. What the hell? When God kills a child's parents and encourages the murderers to take that child as a sex slave, it's okay -- fundy apologists are always quiet on those threads. But if humans want to conduct research to help improve the health of the living -- well watch out, 'cause here comes the God police!

  I'm in favor of the research particularly as has recently been reported embryo stem cells can be made from an ovum with the genetic material from any cell of a potential patient. It is like setting the clock back on the cell's biochemistry and fooling the cell into rapid replication and behaving as a non-specialized embriotic cell..

  Unless you think a "human soul" is automatically inserted into this non-sexually reproduced cell clone I can't recently see an ethical problem with inducing embryotic functions from a host cell and the genetic material of a living person.

  Hello Malk and the others,

  quite a controversial subject. But as most
  of us are aware this firl of " STEM CELLS" to be used also
  for grafting are already advanced in many countries. Many
  lives have been saved by useign stem cells from the "newborn
  omb. cord". This kind of grafting, as written in many medical
  journals, are considered and termed as " cells transplants "
  and therefore...you've guessed ..."a matter of conscience".

  So why all this contrary opinions?? Do we care about life?

  Finally I do agree with Thirdson:

  HAHA, Just to clarify things, I got this is an email. I don't really have an opinion on it as of yet. Before I could make a clear decision on it, I'd have to research more into it. I posted it as a matter of interest.....in the opinions of others. I am a firm believer in that we are here (On Earth) as a learning experience, and part of that learning experience is listening and learning from others.

  How come christain fundamentelist believe this world
  is lying in the hands of the wicked one(satan himself)
  and yet think the idiot in the white house is in contact
  with the lord above? If we are the most powerful nation
  and being led by christ is satan playing ginn--rummy
  somewhere?

  My thought is man himself will make aging slow and if WE all can keep from killing each other we will continue
  to live longer and longer. Science and MAN's brain will
  bring us to live a thousand years not god. He set it up
  that way.
