A line they won't cross

I've been inactive since 1991, and nothing changed in my way of acting nor in their way of acting. It's who will blink first.

The witness don't all shun me. Elders will say hello when our roads cross, but they will rarely come over unless it's the memorial coming up.

Although, probably, they want me to go back, they won't show it too much. It's as if their shunning technique is actually playing against them.

They never asked me to make up my mind, to come back or leave for good, a line they won't cross.

Lots of us in that boat! This year I'm a-gonna celebrate x-mas just to force their hand... I figure if they ignore that I'm good, if not well I'm ready for a fight!

That sounds like a pretty good predicament to find yourself in, all things being considered.

JH If you left in 91, chances are that most of your cong. has faded or died. Those who are left don't care and neither should you.

I was inactive for years and would occasionally receive a visit from the CO and an accompanying Elder. They would always ask me if I still believed it was the “Truth”. A yes answer seemed to satisfy them. At the time this going on, I felt that their motivation was that they cared for me. Based on what I know now I think they wanted me to say “NO” to their question so that they would have a basis to DF me

Don't you just hate those self-incriminating damned-if-you-do-and-damned-if-you-don't questions? The ones like:

Do you consider yourself to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses?

Do you believe Jehovah's Witnesses are The Truth??

I think I've decided on an answer, the next time they decide to come calling (and choose to ignore my NO Preaching sign)

I believe in the truth (as opposed to The Truth?) and I will leave it to Jehovah to judge where it is found and where it is not found. Thanks for coming and have a nice day.

i wonder why some are so aggressive in tyring to reconnect with stray sheep, and others are apathetic. in this case, it seems so long ago maybe they decided not to bother. although it seems funny that they would just assume that you aren't in anymore... i mean, you could have moved to a different district...how would they know? ho do they know anyway? kind of creepy...

    That's a great line.

"Yes, I believe in the truth. I mean how can one not accept the truth once it's been shown to you? I accept the truth and believe the truth."
Of course never mentioning that "truth" means that we know that the WTS is not God's organization as it claims.
