I am interested in recreating astronomical events like solar and lunar eclipses that took place during Biblical times.
Does anyone know of some good PC astronomy software that could could be used to recreate such events?

Hi Vm
I use Skymap Pro ver 10. (www.skymap.com). I find it easy to use and if I remember it was quite reasonably priced. Another website is www.starrynight.com -
CF.
Try the Sky View Cafe. http://www.skyviewcafe.com/index.php
It's free and easy to use.
Cartes du Ciel http://www.stargazing.net/astropc/ is another one a lot of Amateurs use, it's a freebie.
I use Starry Night which is very good but the absolute dogs dangly bits when it comes to Astronomy
is TheSky which is superb.
You could try :

Not sure how far back in history it goes, as you can alter the date of the sky your looking at.
