  Hi,

  In a local congregation, a MS is being accused of fondling a 14 year old girl. The Elders are pulling the "2 witness rule" out of their arses to protect the guy. He was 22 at the time. His family is pretty big in the congregation. His Father, Uncle, and Cousin are all Elders in the cong. His brother in law (Bill C.) is actually a super, sincere, guy. Anyway, Nathan Ar%&urs is his name. He has been accused by many of being a borderline pedophile, yet is still protected by his influential family. He has apparently denied any wrongdoing, and is still conducting book studies. In all fairness, these could be false accusations. Maybe.....maybe not. I'm registered to a different cong, but I hear all this stuff from my Mom. Seems there's always some scandal going on in that cong.

  This reminds me of my experience with my brother a couple of years ago. I wish I had kept his correspondance with me. He was 36 and an Elder. He was infatuated with a 17 year old Pioneer. The things he said to me in IM/PM/EMAIL would curl the ears of the most deviant out there about her.

  He was deleted as an Elder at the time because of this. He was then reinstated as an Elder a few years later. Now, he is being asked to be a CO. He went through their Spanish education (he learned Spanish and joined a Spanish Congregation) and is now giving talks in Spanish.

  I for one would be terribly afraid of this man being in control. Just think of it. Sometimes a CO is looked upon as an icon, someone to strive for. A man in his position could take advantage of many women and get away with it. After all there is the 2 witness rule.

  Report it goddamn it!! Especially if it's in a mandatory reprting state. Especially if your baptised, because that makes you a minister, hence liable. Hell, just because your are human. Erroneous or not, that's for the police to sort out, not you, not the goddamn elders.

  The older guy and younger girl thing isn't frowned upon though in the religion.

  There were always older "brothers" that were getting paired off with young single "sisters" because of the lack of suitable marriage mates. When I was 17, I was hooked up in field service on Saturday with some 38 yoa MS that was single... one elder kept mentioning how "available" and how "spiritual" he was... he was freaking old and icky in my book.

  There was a 16 yoa girl that was married off though while I was still a teenager, her husband was a MS on his way to eldership and was about 30 yoa. Her parents signed the waiver for her to get married even though she was 16 yoa to this guy. It was a huge KH wedding and everything, no one batted an eyelash that maybe this wasn't appropriate. That was probably 1988 or 1990 I think.

  I am curious why the accusations were made. Is he suspected as such, or was there a case by a certain individual. Is it a victim who brought this forth or just suspicions by others?

  If there was an accusation by a victim, I'd definately report it as suggested. If many suspect it for reasons other than braindead dub gossip, I'd also report it.

  The dubs aren't alone in having problems with older men likin the youngens. You'll find it wherever there are men and young girls if you watch close enough.

  Go to the police or Social Services and let them decide if she's lying or he's a Pedophile.

  Its a 14 Year old girl! Probalbly VERY scared.
