No, I haven't found any. However, a certain poster on this board made the above reference in a post supporting the "great deluge".
It took me back to a Public Talk I heard 20 odd years ago by a visiting elder who I later learned imported and resold all sorts of books from the US about the Bible, Creationism and even about JW's. He was a very good speaker and freely admitted when he wandered away from the outline and was adding some tidbits he had discovered. I was a teenager at the time and while I believed everything JW/WTS he related some things that bothered me as being at bit too "hearsay" and unprovable. Consequently, I never used them as arguments.
The one "evidence" this elder presented was the story of a lady who while placing pieces of coal on her fire dropped a large lump which broke in two revealing a fine hand-crafted silver chain. According to this elder, it proved that coal seems were not that old and that the obviously human artifact was pre-flood preserved when the great flood compressed the trees into coal.
My question, where did this story come from? Are there several similar creationist stories going around? If this is true where is the silver chain? Did anyone go looking for more artifacts in the coal seam? When and where did this happen. I suspect the excuse will be that the chain went missing, the lady died, scientists stole it to hide the truth or variations on this theme. I presumed a few years later after I learned a few things about this elder that he had been reading some "creationist" literature he had imported.
Has anyone else heard similar wild stories or even better ones?
