Another Old Friend Died

  Well maybe not a friend but some one I have known for 55 years. She and her family were at one time associated with the JWs, except her husband. Her sons left the org. many years ago, but her daughters married into the org. and are still active. I was talking to one of her sons a few days ago and he mentoned that she was in a nursing home. My brother told me today that her funeral was held in the KH today. Must have been in the local news paper. No one notifies me anymore of the deaths of people I used to know in the kingdom hall. I still hate to see the deaths of so many I knew when I was active in the "truth". Life sure does change over the years. I've been out for 30 years but I remember so many of the people I used to be associated with, and I hate to see them all dying.

  I've only been out since '92 but I still feel ripped off, in a sense, because there have been many elderly ones in the Congregation that I was in that have died since '92 and I never got to see them again after I was disfellowshipped.

  Sorry for your loss, Ken. It's too bad that the JW religion separates so many from family and friends like they do.

  Thats how it goes ol' buddy. As time goes on we see things leave us. It started for me when all the old timer comedians began to pass away. When Bob Hope passed away, it felt like a generation had vanished. Nothing has really changed though Ken....we just get caught in the stream of time and float down with it. It'll all be fine.

  It's hard for me to see more and more of the generation of my parents, dying. I know my generation is the next one, and that scares the s&*% out of me.
