I was a JW for 30 years and finally left as the hypocracy of the Watchtower Society became more and more apparent.
My decision to leave hurt a lot, because I *knew* the ramifications of doing so, long in advance. I honestly could not uphold their many changing doctrines and man-made rules any longer, and I didn't wish to be known as one of Jehovah's Witnesses from that time forth.
I was aware that my JW family members would shun me, but my family that had disowned me when I *became* a JW----still shunned me for *that*, and 30 years of JW "friends" now also shunned me, as is Watchtower policy.
The WTS claims to be Christian, but do not celebrate the death or the resurrection of Jesus, and the ONLY thing they are allowed to observe is Jesus' death. Their mock communion is held once a year and only a select few (about 5,000) are allowed to actually partake in the wine and bread.
There is no way that I can point out all the scriptures that they have twisted and changed through their own bible translation. The "question and answer" parts of their meetings are based on these purposely misused passages as part of an ongoing indoctrination and they claim that THEY are the only religion approved by God himself.
These folks are only "family" in the sense that everyone must agree on all the doctrines, even those that keep changing and being revised. Those that disagree that the Governing Body is mistaken--is cast out and shunned. The "friendships" are quite conditional.
It IS a very cleverly manipulated Cult and is dangerous to the families who have members in it. Many thousands have lost lives to the edict of no blood transfusions and that those who accept them are also cast out of this Cult.
Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg, but enough so that you may wish to research this "religion" on GOOGLE or any other search engine you prefer.
Yes, they LOOK good, on the surface.......but after little digging, you'll see just what lies beneath the surface.
