With all the controversy lately about the book. "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown, who here has read it? What did you think of it? I just bought a copy of it the other day.

I loved it, couldn't put it down.

Great "fiction" based on a lot of facts. Don't understand what all the fuss is about. Reminded me of a more serious version of Indian Jones!

Oh wait, Elvis "is" still alive too, to many! Must be the same crowd.. .

    Hi,

I just read it, it's a good read, although I found the end a little slow compared to the rest of the book. If you do enjoy it then I would suggest getting Foucault's Pendulum by Umbertyo Eco. I think a superior read.

I read that Tom Hanks (first it was Russell Crowe) is supposed to play the lead in the movie. Kind of disappointed. Not a big Hanks fan. I hope they don't screw it up.

Oops sorry people looks like there is another thread going about this topic. The reason why I asked was a friend of mine took me down to a seminar on the book the other day. She says it was advertised in the paper and made out that it was put on by the author Dan Brown. What it was all about and we sat through 1 1/2 hours, was a scholar from the Catholic Church pointing out all the errors in the book. It was kind of a misleading add according to my friend. She claims it made out it was presented by the author. We were not too overly impressed by being mislead like that.

Great book! Purely fiction; although it reads as being very plausible to the average reader.

add an extra star if you are interested in religion and the ancient world....will make a great movie!
