  Supporters of a man suing the Jehovah's Witness Church gathered outside a Calgary courthouse Wednesday morning.

  Lawrence Hughes and his supporters say they are warning the public about the church.

  Hughes sued the religious group after the death of his 17-year-old daughter Bethany in 2002.

  She was a member of the church and refused blood transfusions to treat her leukemia.

  Her father claims church members, including Bethany's mother, intimidated the teen by teaching her that blood transfusions were against God's will.

  The church denies the claim and is attempting to have the lawsuit thrown out.

  That is such an unbeliveably heart wrenching story. I hope he makes those bastards pay.

  That is so sad for the little girl, influenced by her mother and Org. She was too young to have her own say. I hope the lawsuit stands and they get sued BIG TIME. Its about time that the "real truth" about the Org is revealed. That they brainwash and ruin people's lives. I'm not sure how her mother really justifies to herself what she has done. Its very sad.

  I truly hope that Lawrence has some good lawyers; the kind that'll fight for a cause and not do it just for the cash. The WTBTS is a bank/creature with long tentacles and they have the ability to ' touch ' those that are fighting them in sensitive places ( wallets ).
