According to WT policy have you committed the unforgivable sin and instantly destined for gehenna?

Does anyone have any info on this?

I believe you are referring to sinning against the Holy Spirit. I think that's what they consider apostacy. From what I heard only Jehovah truly knows whether or not someone has committed the "unforgivable sin" such as they referred to Judas doing. I imagine the elders would have a tough time not reinstating someone who wanted to be reinstated.

They could, of course, make it difficult but even Paul was eventually accepted into the fold after everything he did to God's people so how could they keep a mere apostate out?

I have never seen the answer to your question in the literature though...

That?s a good question. If someone were disfellowshipped for apostasy I would think that his or her desire to be reinstated would be an indication of ?repentance?. There were Kings in the days of ancient Israel who were apostates in their turning away from Jehovah to false gods. Jehovah accepted them back.

ValiantBoy said this, "There was a witness woman in Texarkana named Mattie that professed to be of the anointed. She was disfellowshipped for apostasy, but the decision was overturned on appeal. A few months later she was again before the committee for apostasy and disfellowshipped. She was disfellowshipped the whole time I lived ther (4 years). She seldomly missed a meeting, always turned in time and insisted that she was wrongly disfellowshipped. She was scorned by the congrgation. I even heard one pioneer sister say she had committed the unforgivable sin. I told the sis she'd feel funny if Mattie ever got reinstated. She said it'd never happen cause Mattie had grieved the holy spirit. Well... Matie moved to a different cong and was quickly reinstated. I never spoke to her and she died shortly after being reinstated. It a very sad situatuion." In another post...

Looks like it must be hard. Of course it always depends on the congregation you're in. Love the consistency in that organization. Talk about love, kindness and mercy.

It would be hard but not impossible. For example: Once a year the elders are suppose to call on DF'd ones in their territory. They are encouraged not to call on ones who had a critical attiude toward the org. ie apostates.

The main reason is the elders would want to make sure the apostate had completely rejected his apostate course. Otherwise the cong could be in jeapordy of being swayed by the apostate's lies . I just love this little bat guy.

It would probably take a long time to be reinstated.

    I was dfd for apostasy.

I had no problem whatsoever being reinstated.

However, I must point out that my reinstatement proceedings began just few months before the early-80s anti-apostasy crackdown by the WTS.

In fact, as I was sitting at the district assembly (alone, of course), the chairman of my jc approached me and expressed his concern that the "new light" in the latest Watchtower hadn't discouraged me from continuing with my efforts to be reinstated.

I daresay that, were I to try the same thing today (take me out and shoot me first!!!!), I'd be facing the equivalent of the Maginot line.

Those who the WT calls Apostates are the ones who know the truth and I can't see why any of them would even think about getting reinstated. Hebrews10:26 says"If anyone practice sin willfully, after coming to an accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins." You notice the scripture says "practice" so when someone keeps doing things they know is wrong they cannot be forgivin. And the WT has consistantly published lies and THEY are the ones who will not be forgivin. Deuteronomy18:21-22 tells you what happens to false prophets. It plainly says if they prophesy in God's name and it doesn't come true that is a false prophet. Verse 20 of Deuteronomy says they will be put to death. I personally believe if any of us "apostates" would go back we would not be forgivin because we know what the truth is, thats why we left.

Yes, apostates can get reinstated. However, they'll have to go through Bible studies extensively. Also, they cannot achieveany privileges whatsoever until there's been sufficient time that they've convinced the WTBTS they agree wholeheardtedly with them.

I don't know of any apostate that has gotten reinstated, ever.
