A Message for You Know

    To You Know,

I read your message, as well as the messages from the others. I will give all of the comments I received thoughtful and prayerful consideration. Including yours.

However, I think maybe you didn't read my postings carefully enough before responding. I DID use Jehovah's name in them. See the posting "So Confused," 5th paragraph from the end. See "Suicide," 3rd paragraph from the beginning.)

Maybe my relationship with Jehovah does need work. I have to be humble and admit this. I also admit that right now, I don't have the answer to my situation. Also, if I am doing the wrong thing by posting here (listening to "apostates"), I will suffer the consequences.

But on the other hand, don't the scriptures encourage us to be like the Boreans, to make sure that what we are told is "really so?" We encourage our Bible students to do this. I feel that's what I'm doing (weighing all sides of an issue). Is that wrong?

What I don't understand is this: On one hand, we are told to do research, make sure what we believe, etc. Yet after we get baptised, if a doubt or question comes up, we really AREN'T allowed to weigh all sides.

What I mean is, we can go to the Society's literature and look for an answer. But reading anything else is wrong. And talking about our doubts is bad. Any view different from the Society is "apostasy". I'm having trouble understanding this.

Also, I notice the governing body sometimes quotes from other religious leaders and their publications in the Awake and Watchtower. Granted, they do so in order to show where they are wrong.

But here's what I don't understand: in order to quote from false religious stuff, the governing body must be reading it, right? Isn't that wrong too? Why do they read it and decide what parts to tell me, but if I read it, I'm going apostate?

If you could answer this, with scriptural explanations, it would really help alot. As I said, I'm confused and want to understand. Really I do.

Oh brother. Here comes the "They can do it because they are the shepards and you are the sheep" bull-maggots.

And so would You Know, wouldn't you agree, troubled?

You Know is a strange bird, indeed. Here is how he has responded to your questions in the past, over the years he has been posting with us online: He is anointed, and he feels he is an exception to the WTS rules about being online with us. Furthermore, he is not "associating" with us, but announcing things to us. However, he will suggest you stay away, for you are unsteady at this time, although he can take it.

What he won't tell you, although he has told us several times over the years, is that he himself disagrees with several WTS teachings, and has publicly preached a different message at times. He expects calamity to befall the WTS 'any day now', and ridicules those who follow every word from the GB as if it comes from God.

As I said, he's a strange bird. Everything I've said above is what he's told us over the years.

You, troubled, have indeed noticed a hypocritical stand taken by the Society: We are supposed to be like the Beroeans, except when it comes to the WTS teachings. Then we are just supposed to accept it, no questions asked.

    Dear, dear troubled,

I read that reply from You Know also. Putting the blame on you. It is absolute, unmitigated evil.

Your "relationship" with Jah is just fine my friend(I've read your other post, and you describe someone who is sincere and humble, you can't be any better than that, no matter what "priviledge" you're assigned in the organization). It is your relationship with yourself primarily that needs work.

As I mentioned before, many things you have said remind me of my own situation a very short time ago. One of the most empowering things in my entire life has been realizing that, for all my weaknesses, human frailties, times when I have been selfish, etc, etc, I am as sincere in my efforts to do good, to be good, as any human on this planet.

I believe that you are too. Oh, you may have your experiences that you can look back on and feel bad about yourself, but so does every other human on this planet.

It is a level playing field, don't let evil people make you feel bad about your efforts. And don't buy into this silly notion that certain witnesses are somehow getting the blessings, due to their being more sincere, more active, etc. You and I are the same age, so I know you know better.

And no, you are not "going apostate". That is a meaningless and silly term, in spite of all the "voodoo" power it is infused with in the organization.

    Hi Troubled
You DO have a responsibility to see for yourself, as did the Boereans, whether the things you have learned are indeed true.
YK, as usual, spews mindless drivel instead of dealing with the person behind the problem.
Troubled, you are doing a service to yourself, as well as to JAH himself by seeing to your own emotional and spiritual health.
Stay the course and find the answers you seek.

I checked today, but no answer from You Know. I appreciate the other responses. Do you have an explanation and/or answer to my earlier question?

    You Know,

It has been a few days. Still no answer to my question. Are you going to respond to it?

    Hi Troubled,

Concentrate on your relationship with God and nothing man made. You are aware of what god commanded people to do. Love one another. Do that and Voila, you have a happier life and will build a better relationship with god and your fellow man.

    simple ain't it

    hugs

    Joel
