So Thursday is the Prom Memorial. Now a JW is telling me that the regular Thursday meeting is rescheduled for Friday. How bizarre. Why can't they skip one meeting while they have their annual communion Memorial? That's like the RCs rescheduling Sunday Mass because Christmas falled on a Sunday. Not normal.

It is not for the rank and file to reason why, but to do, do, do, do, do, and die.

I have seen them skip the public talk when the Memorial was on a Sunday. The WT Study was held the day before on Saturday.
I have seen them skip the book study when the Memorial was on a Tuesday night. They just jammed 2 weeks into the next Tuesday night.

BTW I found out that the one Bible Student group (Present Truth Forum) is having their memorial on even a different date:
Our Lord?s Memorial is Tuesday, March 22, after 6:00 p.m. This is calculated as follows (all times Greenwich Mean Time): The vernal equinox is March 20, 12:35 p.m.; the new moon nearest this equinox is March 10, 9:11 a.m.; add 2 hours 21 minutes to get Jerusalem time = March 10, 11:32 a.m.; so Nisan 1 is from 6:00 p.m. March 9, to 6:00 p.m. March 10; Nisan 14 begins 13 full days later, on Tuesday, March 22, 6:00 p.m., ending Wednesday, March 23, 6:00 p.m. The Memorial should therefore be kept after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22.
and another group
Associated Bible Students will be observing the Memorial on Friday, April 22 after 6 PM

Is this maybe up to each local cong? I recall us skipping a meeting when it fell on meeting night. Sometimes, we'd just split the meeting up over two weeks, but I recall once when we just skipped a bookstudy.
