These are the top ten movies that I would consider taking with me on a desert island...not necesarily my all time favorite films, but they are for the moment.

    1.) 2001: A Space Odyssey
2.) Det Sjunde Inseglet (The Seventh Seal)
    3.) Andrei Rublev
4.) Fanny och Alexander (Fanny and Alexander)
5.) C'era una volta il West (Once Upon a Time in the West)
    6.) The Right Stuff
    7.) Breaking the Waves
8.) The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence
    9.) Miller's Crossing
10.) The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

My life has not been the same since that movie.....

BTW, wouldn't Castaway be a suitable movie for someone who was on a deserted island?

Dunno if I can come up with ten movies I'd want with me on a desert island...I think I'd prefer some tools and tarps to a vcr and movies... but here's a few of my all-time faves (which change daily as does my book list):

Champions (true story of Bob Champion & horse overcoming huge obstacles to win the Grand National)

    Fiddler on the Roof

Blues Brothers 2000 ('it's the music, man'...)

Belle et la Bete (Cocteau version)

    The Magic Flute (Bergman)

    The Lathe of Heaven

telefon (conspiracy theory AND Chuck Bronson, yummy)

    The Lion In Winter

    Lawrence of Arabia

    Lord Jim

There... ten films, and three with O'Toole. Hmmm...
