The Wedding

    Well, I survived the wedding. It was beautiful, and all went like clockwork. Even the little Princess, (Princess' little 3 year old) performed on cue, as the flower girl, dropping rose petals behind her Mommy, who was a bridesmaid. During the ceremony, she twirled around and around, while the best man sang a song. She continued when one of the bridesmaids and a groomsman sang another song. The music was too much of a temptation, so she had to dance!! It was very cute. Everyone seemed to get a kick out of her doing. It provided a tension relief too.

    Several people, who are active JW's actually came to the church for the wedding, much to my surprise and delight. They stayed for the reception, and one old friend, my age, stayed to help clean up, and carry stuff to the car. She was great, and had a wonderful time sitting at a table, with disfellowshipped apostates!! She had no idea they were df'd though. They were Venice's parents, who are not from here, so she didn't know them. She got an earful from them, and my cousin's husband, and was going to go home and do some research on Bulgaria and the blood issue. She spent the last hour chatting with my husband about more stuff too. To be fair, I have to say she has always been a pretty free thinker. Her husband had to work, or he would have come too. She said she didn't understand the fear of churches among the witnesses. "What are they afraid of?" she said.

    All in all, it was a beautiful day. My baby is married now. No more kids at home. Just hubby and me......and my Dad. Oh well.

    I will post a photo or two when I get them developed.

    Mulan;

    Congrats to you and the fam. Glad to hear everything turned out nice. Churches ain't all that bad. I especially like Catholic Cathedrals, they are some of the most beautiful buildings.

    Thanks bigboi! I have to say the music was wonderful.

    The Bride's family are all very musical, and great singers. They all play instruments, and at the reception, they sang and played some great Celtic music (the Bride joined in), with "thank you Jesus" type lyrics. (guitar, violin, flute) I loved it, but frankly didn't listen to the words. My brother left, not caring at all "for that stuff" (he is an atheist). I have to say that it really stirs the emotions. I loved it.

    Mulan:

    Interesting you say that about your brother. "Worldly" religions(sorry can't think of a better term) imo are much more emotional. The music can really stir you up even if you really don't want to participate. I guess it's a bit unsettling to some ppl. I now think it's a wonderful insight into what makes ppl tick.
