I'm scheduled for this surgery on Monday and was wondering if anyone has had it done. And how it worked out for you.
The Dr told me there was a 15 percent chance it would return and 85 percent have success with it.
I'm nervous about the surgery as well, just because they are working on the facial area. The Dr went over the risks of course, but I have had the chronic sinus headaches for over 2 years now and I do want the pain to go away.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

A friend of ours had the same surgery several years ago. She lost her sense of smell and taste as a result, and it didn't actually cure the problem. She still gets stuffed up and suffers terribly with allergies (which cause sinus congestion).
She has a rather bad allergy to cats, yet she keeps a couple of cats as pets. Go figure.
If you've exhausted every other alternative - treating allergies and finding a medication that works for you, for instance - then it might be worth the risk of going for the surgery. If you haven't been evaluated by an allergy specialist, then I'd consider that first before consenting to a surgery that has the potential to damage your sensory abilities.
You say that you've had this problem for 2 years. Can you think of anything significant that changed 2 years ago? A new pet? A new job? A move to a different city? If you go on vacation for a week or so, does the problem tend to clear up? If you can come up with something, then an allergy is a likely culprit.
I had this surgery about 5 years ago and it did wonders . I had sinus problems from having my nose broke which was also fixed in surgery so my recovery took a while longer then others might have. I had a deviated septon which caused the infections from my nose being broke ( i was in a few fights ) but since the surgery all is great .
