    Quote from the official Org. Website:

    http://www.watchtower.org/library/w/1988/4/15/article_01.htm

    "Cutting ourselves off completely from all association with [my disfellowshipped sister] Margaret tested our loyalty to Jehovah's arrangement. It gave our family opportunity to show that we really believe that Jehovah's way is best."?Lynette.

    Why do I picture this woman with naught but polyester fiber-fill between the ears?

    You've got to wonder if Margaret ended up here. Hey, Margaret! You here, Sis?? PM me and let me know that you made it, will ya?

    No, I think in the story, Margaret comes back to the WTS.

    Every story has to have a happy ending.

    For example, on page 26 we noted Lynette?s comment about her choice ?to cut herself off completely from all association? with her disfellowshipped sister Margaret. She and her Christian relatives ?believed that Jehovah?s way is best.? And it is!

    Lynette?s sister later told her: ?If you had viewed the disfellowshipping lightly, I know that I would not have taken steps toward reinstatement as soon as I did. Being totally cut off from loved ones and from close contact with the congregation created a strong desire to repent. I realized just how wrong my course was and how serious it was to turn my back on Jehovah.?

    Well, at least the courts recognize the practice is harmful even tho they will not move to restrict it. From the same article, but about a woman who lost a court case;

    "The constitutional guarantee of the free exercise of religion requires that society tolerate the type of harms suffered by [her] as a price well worth paying to safeguard the right of religious difference that all citizens enjoy"

    *insert the sound of someone being sick here*

    It makes one think though, what kind of harm would be necessary in the instance of shunning to make courts sit up and take notice? People have already lost their jobs, homes, their family members and several have even committed suicide due to this cold heartedness that Christ never intended.

    What do you think it would take?

    I know Margaret very well. She was reinstated however she and her husband faded many years ago. Her sister Lynette is still in though. Because she faded her family still contact her.

    You're kidding!! Wow! Good news. Tell her hello for me. I read that insane comment in the watchtower and felt immediately bad for her. I'm so glad she found her way out.
