Up for auction is a hardbound edition of the "Kingdom Ministry School Textbook" published by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, Jehovah's Witnesses, for use by elders only. Because this was used in the course of a school, it has much underlining and many marginal notations. I think some might agree that the value of this particular book is enhanced by the notes added during the elder school. At the end of the section dealing with judicial matters, are handwritten the following comments: "6 expressions that should not be used...1. Anything eluding to, or naming one of the Society's attorneys. 2. Any mention of the legal department. 3. Any comments referring to directions from Society. 4. Any comments mentioning anyone other than the Committee. 5. Any comment that might suggest to someone with a critical eye that the committee did not reach its decision on its own but, instead somehow yield to its influence of an outside party...." Can't make out all of the sixth item, and have corrected spelling of some of the transcription of the handwritten notes above. This book is obviously provided as a guide to elders in caring for congregational responbibiilities, including judicial matters. The handwritten notes hint at some interesting guidance in how not to refer to this guide and other direction from the Society.

With all of that said, this is interesting reading. You seldom see these for sale, and this one probably wouldn't be for sale if we weren't raising the final funds necessary to complete our adoption. A buy it now option will appear until the first bid is placed. The book is tightly bound, and well used. Please ask any questions you have before bidding.

There is an article on the 6 things elders are not supposed to put on DF forms on my website at http://www.docbob.org/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=9

(just go to the "Organization" section and then the article is entitled "DF Form No-no's"

I should imagine that the 'buy it now' bidder was probably a representative of the WTBTS out to destroy evidence. Sellers wanting to dispose of their old WTBTS publications perhaps aught to ask for references from would be buyers!

Of course! The society doesn't want anything to come back at them. Let the local BOE be sued for being tyrants all on their own.

I've got a new understanding of this scripture since being set free from the 'borg.

"Let them be. Blind guides is what they are. If then, a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit." Matthew 15:14 NWT
