Demons and the World's Largest Garage Sale, eBay!

Remember the Watchtower and Awake! used to print articles with experiences of how people bought items at garage and yard sales, and after bringing them home, were bothered by unseen spirits or demons?

Well, what is the world's largest garage sale in existence?

    eBay, of course!

So where are the experiences of people getting something through eBay, and then being attacked by demons?

The Watchtower should never have printed those garage sale/demons experiences. They can't be verified, are by their very nature subjective, most likely were made up, are not scriptural (demons don't inhabit or attach themselves to objects in the Bible), and the articles promoted superstitious beliefs!

Well, real jaydubs aren't on the internet anyhow.

Besides, more and more eBay sellers are buying new stuff (or overstocked goods) wholesale and reselling it - they're just retail stores without a storefront.

or just do a search for "haunted" and you will find tons of demonized stuff on ebay!

Does that mean if I buy old JW literature it's going to arrive with a demon or two attached to it?

I work for the Post Office, and I don't think I'd let demons attach themselves to mail items and let them go through the mailstream :p

    LOL!

My husband is going on a business trip, and we needed a medium-sized suitcase. I found one at the Salvation Army last week in new condition for $5. So much better than paying $20 or more for one. I'd never been in there, and a friend took me along to look.

Anyway, I told my JW mom about the suitcase, and she said "I'd never shop from there. You don't know who used to own it. It could be possessed." I couldn't help it...I just started laughing at her. I told her I'd take that chance, and she quickly changed the subject. Maybe she realized how silly she sounded.

She's never reacted like that to anything I bought off of Ebay though. She's even had me buy a few computer related things with my paypal account (she won't set one up) for her. I guess they aren't pushing the idea that Ebay is bad in dubland.

I've never heard anyone in dubville speak evilly of ebay. There are a lot (LLLLLOOOOOOOTTTTTT) of dubs making money on ebay. They buy at yardsales and second hand stores and sell it on ebay. This allows some of them to pioneer. Ebay is quickly becoming this generations window washing or house cleaning pioneer job.

Okay, assuming for a second that this could be true, why would it only be dangerous to buy second-hand goods? Couldn't pagan or "Christendom" manufacturers (which must surely outnumber JW manufacturers by thousands to one) install demons right at the factory? Seal 'em in with the shrink-wrap? Why not? Who hasn't heard of computer programs bought brand-new off the shelf that had computer viruses?
