    I recently attended another Assembly.

After getting home Sunday I reflected and thought the following:

What did I really learn about Christ? About the Bible?

    Nothing!

I only learned on how to follow the org, how the org knows best, how to avoid bad assocciations, on how to attend, etc etc etc.

It was just another pep rally!

I remember a few years ago a faithful older sister saying 'I remember years ago the emphisis in the mags was on Jehovah; then it went on to Jesus; and now it's more on the organisation...'. She's still faithful, but aware.

Aaaaah, racing to the grocery store after work in order to buy lunch stuff for three people (me and my two kids) for two to four days (depending on if it was a District or Circuit deal), making sure you didn't forget anything as you packed the car up at 11:00 the night before the big event, getting up at the crack of dawn to drive up to two hours to get to the venue as early as possible in order to find a "good" seat, sitting through hours of talks guaranteed to make you feel like living slime mold, trying to keep your eyes from drifting shut and embarrassing snoring to commence after lunch, staying late to wipe and scrape and sweep the place clean, dragging home to eat a quick dinner, shower, and fall into bed so you could do it all again the next day. I can't tell you how much I don't miss the assemblies.

And you're supposed to talk about it (to encourage) on the way home, at night, and the next morning. And don;t forget to

purposely wear badges to start conversations with people

Brings back (UGH) memories! (except I have five kids to drag with me)----and after all was said and done-----how we cooed and drooled over what a FINE assembly it WAS!

Annie..............who's loving missing all of it!

For the Kids the truly good part is meeting girls (or boys). In my case I always lost the attention of

the good looking ones to Bethellites. Even this hotty foreigner I liked, visited Bethel during her stay and wound up

marrying him (bethellite). The guy moved overseas for her!
