Is God hooked on human sacrifices?

I am not necessarily referring to the kind in the old testament when something or someone is burned on altar. What I am referring to is our life in general.

Is he only pleased with us when there is a dead body involved (namely ours)?

In other words, our death as a result of either not taking blood, not saluting the flag, not going to war, resisting rape, etc.

It is all rather sadistic I think.

It seems to me that the god of the bible enjoys watching people suffer the same way a kid likes to chase ants with a magnifying glass on a sunny day.
