  Were your parents critical of your JW friends and non-critical of your worldly friends?

  We attended a Kingdom Hall with less than 100 publishers. My dad never had a good word to say about any of my JW friends, they were all un-theocratic. In fact he was down right preachy about it. He very seldom commented on my worldly friends except for general comments about bad association and such. How was it for you?

  By the way we were at the hall every time the doors opened and then some. My dad was hardcore WT.

  Mine was very critical of worldly friends, and totally non-critical of the WItness kids. THEY could do no wrong. Even when I was invited to an unchaperoned teenage JW kid party, she'd let me go. Just as long as I was associating with Witness kids, I would be safe.

  Worldly kids = ruled by Satan, not allowed to be friends

  JW kids = family not strong enough in the 'lie', bad association

  I couldn't win!

  I was reared by my mother and grandparents.

  They were hypercritical of everybody and everything.

  When I first had a JW friend they pounced on his religion.

  Until then, they'd never exhibited any religious "feelings".

  I guess that brought the sap up into their branches.

  I tend to marry women just like my mother. (shudder).

  my dad was a little critical of JW friends especially my male JW friends. Never said much bout worldy friends coz i never brought any of them home es

  Never understood my dad's attitude. After 30yrs.one of those little thing I think about from time to time

  My mom was critical of ALL my friends. I couldn't have any worldly friends because they were bad association, and my Witness friends were not spiritual enough. So I ended up just being close to my family, which made me very unhappy.
