Governing Body Provide A Lousy Retirement Package for Loyal Service

  You people who have given decades of loyal service at Bethels all around the world and you Circuit and District Overseer have given up much,, and how does the Governing Body treat you for all these years of service?? What kind of retirement have they or are they planning for you since the world hasn't come to an end like they said so often that it would.

  Isn't it terrible that the Governing Body has you under its control and you are stuck still serving them and you can't leave because you have nowhere to go no money, no home,,,,you are in slavery to the Governing Body. There has got to be away to stop the Governing Body holding you hostage like this.

  I hate it that they force people over 65 to keep working at bethel to earn thier keep. I think the Governing Body treats the older ones in thier control deplorably. I think you can start mumbling discretely to other old timmers about this. I don't think the Governing Body is that cruel that they would go so far as disfellowship someone for grumbling a little bit about how bad it is that they provide very lousy retirement benifits,, and I'm sure a lot of older one close to the GB feel the same way.

  The Governing Body should out of common human deciency provide retirement benifits to all who have over 15 years full time service reguardless of wether they reject or beleive they are God's channel in fact the belief that they are what they claim to be should be a complete non issue.

  You guys On the Governing Body are very stingy,, and everyone at Bethel knows it!!!!

  You forget one very important point.... many of these workers like it this way.

  I know couples that were so desperate to get in the traveling work, so they didn't have to work anymore and had health insurance. That's it.

  They are lazy (as regards REAL work) and love the "power" trip. Think about it.. you may be broke but your "in the full-time ministry" and nearly everywhere you go in Dub-land you're a celebrity and get all your meals paid for.

  It's what they want... it's what they get. Choose your master well.

  Ya, there's alot of things the Governing Body should do out of common human deciency, but seeing as they don't possess any such qualities, it ain't never gonna happen.

  u/d: Hit the nail on the head. Some folks are willing to 'make a deal with the devil' to become jw celebrities.

  Just imagine the thrill of standing in front of hundreds or thousands, who must applaud whatever crap you spew out.

  I personally know some who eventually reach their 'goal', only to later become disappointed at the shallowness of the whole thing. Then, others can't wait until each year's circuit and district assembly assignments. Both, men & women would rub this great honour in the faces of the less spiritually qualified.

  The whole arrangement used to drive me crazy.

  While it is true many are on a power trip and so are willing to put themselves in this no win situation, I think we are painting with a wide brush if we generally catgorize everyone that way.

  What about the women that week in and week out have to suffer listening to the same old booring talks thier husbands give if they are COs or DOs wives. Or someone in Bethel that has a very meanial job for decades.

  I'm sure many at Bethel right now are feeling tremendous resentment at the Governing Body for the slave labor they are now forced into because they have no retirement benifits to draw on and are stuck in Bethel with no say what so ever,, they can't complain for fear they will be DF'd and homeless and no money. I feel a big revolt comming on!!!

  So many COs and DOs, with absolutely no retirement plan put in place by the GB in apreciation for thier hard work. What a bad message the GB are sending to these loyal workers. Just think of the damage these persons can cause as more and more find out the real truth about the lies used to manipulate them and the terrible bind the GB have put these persons. I see very much trouble developing over this.

  Hey GB do something humanitarian for these people before they rip you open in shear revenge.

  If the GB really was the Spokesperson for an Loving God surely they would provide a retirement package for those that were mislead by thier constant reminders about how close the end of the world is. The GB need to live up to thier claim to love the friends and have thier best interest in heart and mind.
