It was so IRONIC!!! My JW parents came over for dinner (I have faded) and watched some TV with us. Anyways Bart gets kicked out of Public School and has to go to Catholic School. He loves it and wants to become a Catholic. Marge freaks out and gets Ned Flanders to help her draw Bart back to the REAL TRUE FAITH. Bart keeps trying to tell them, it is MY decision to choose my religion. Why can't we all just get along. We are all CHRISTIANS!!! Can't we concentrate on the small things we have in common as opposed to the small things we don't. It was just the PERFECT EPISODE to watch with mind controlled parents. I am sure they didn't grasp the parallels, but it was quite ironic for my husband and I. Just had to share.

I'll be damned!Below is unedited exact copy excerpt from my blog posted two years ago. ---------------------------- ....These Watchtower charlatans ordered the rank and file followers in 1990 NOT TO HAVE CHILDREN or watch the animated Simpson's TV show.I was THERE at the district convention and heard it for myself. Hmmmm,is Bart Simpson an apostate? Control freaks with a mean streak.

I loved the 1000 years in the future blip... reminded me of Life of Brian.

I watched it with my kids... it was AWESOME....

I loved the line where Bart says to Marge...(in the Catholic Church) women don't rank too high here...

OMG, I was laughing my head off every 30 seconds!

Up in Protestant heaven they were stuck with stuffy croquet players with sweaters tied around their shoulders.
The Catholic heaven had PINIATAS lol, and riverdance, and irish cop fights, PARTY PARTY PARTY.

To get Bart to "cross back over" Marge took him to an outdoor protestant youth culture club - it was the paintball that caught his eye LOL

That show is always good for the right spoof at the right time LOL

Yes, I saw that, too! It was great !

I loved the back and forth,"Uh-uh, THEY don't have the truth WE do" sorta thing. It really showed how superficial and hypocritical even the "same" religions..."Christian" really are.

The part about Bart being viewed as a prophet 1,000 years from now was great, too. I've often thought, what if there was a WW3 and a nuclear halocaust...if there were survivors, would they view any old documents that were found about religion as being 'gospel', just because it survived ?

I believe a similar thing has already happened...I call it the Bible.

I saw one last night which had lisa transported into a microscopic world which she created in a tub; when she got there the crowds in this world she created started worshipping her and then one guys stands up and says 'if your so good why do you permit so many bad things to happen in the world' I fell about laughing at that, nobody else in the room saw the irony of it...but nonetheless I thought it was hillarious.
