I understand from someone that they were visited by jws a few years ago.
The lady said that in a paradise Earth, they would be lions walking all over her garden(Something like that)
She replied `What a lot of rubbish' or something like that.
Were there similiar experiences when you were on the doors?
I remember feeling stupid when offering a brochure to a guy who said he didn't read comic books any longer. It dawned on me he was right. But then I explained it away by thinking only "the mild ones" can grasp "the truth".

In conversation with workmates I often heard it was "a load of old bollocks".
The thing is, I couldn't really say I agreed with them could I? :)
I just felt that anyone who said that didnt really understand it. I used to hear a lot of people say that they used to 'have a go' at witnesses when they knocked on the door, but never once had someone aggresive when i knocked.
One of my favourite experiences was when i was working with a pioneer sister (who i believe isnt in the 'truth' anymore). She said 'right I hate working this territory, i want to get thru it as soon as possible... so when someone comes to the door just say we are here to talk about the bible, and ask them to go an get theirs...' It worked a treat and we cleared a map in about an hour. It was funny just to see the looks on peoples faces.....
That's magical feminine cunning from the pioneer sister, what can women think of! My experience was with a guy who said that all this was in the human imagination and he didn't want to see his cheerful mood getting ruined through talking about such non sense.

Regarding the question in 33 years of door to door have been ordered off many times and once chased with a baseball bat,i was a faster runner.The householder reviled me as a russellite,so i presumed he was the 'evil slave'.
Most people listened politely for about 10 seconds and said they weren't interested.
Of course, we don't know how many were home but hiding (HBH).
Very rarely were people rude despite the fact I had come to their door uninvited basically to tell them their beliefs were wrong and they were going to die.
If anyone said something negative they tended to be specific about not celebrating holidays, not saluting the flag, etc., concentrating on the hurt it caused people.
Most people don't really have clue what JWs are there for even after years of them coming around. And the fault lies with JWs, who dance around the issues.

There is a serious programming programme going on here. Whenever people say it is a load of rubbish it can be confined to the area of "not interested" and when they seriously hit the mark they are vaguely "Satanic". The fundamental untruth that "we are interested in meeting all Christian believers" and so on needs to be addressed. My uncle was a district overseer, my father was an elder - I was brought up in the JW system. The fear any JW sees when they hear I am a convert to the Roman Catholic Church, on conviction, and completely orthodox - is palpable. They say they can answer all my points yet never come back. JWs should know their pick-up on secular nothingism doesn't defeat everyone - but by excluding the people that can argue they make idiots of themselves and their semi-existent arguments. They absolutely spit venom and so on at the name of Popes John Paul or Benedict - even when I point out how much objective good they promote.
