I found the above excerpt from the 1911 article interesting because it shows that Russell was a heretic teaching a works based salvation way back then.
Jesus offers offers renewal and rest through the rebirth, not more works for salvation.
Hebbrews 4: 10 - For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Well as ever a lot of words that say nothing really . The accusation against Christendom is unfounded as the church teaches and has always taught exactly what Russell said it didn',t -that Salvation comes from Christ . The rest is hot air .
