My little sister (not a JW) forwarded me some pictures of my brothers 2 kids (JW and fanatically shuns me). I would not have recognized them on the street. Just when you think you can't hurt anymore...something is always thrown in your face.

It makes me feel as if he has to protect his children from me. Like I am some sick f**k ie: pedophile, kidnapper, murderer. When all I would ever do is love them.

Yup, they certainly know how to emulate Jesus' personality. What right do they have to judge others so severely? And they say there is no hell, they (shunners) MAKE hell on earth everyday for us.

OK, I have been called pretty cold hearted here and otherwise after my experiences with the cult, so my reaction would have been to mail them back.

I'd see it for what it is. They are telling you, "Look at what you are forcing us to withhold from you. You are responsible for hurting the family because you just cannot swallow your pride and come back to what you know is the truth, so we are going to send you painful reminders like this because, unlike us, we know you are a sensitive caring person who is full of love, and we know this will rip your heart out."

I'd be *issed off, but, again, that's just me.

If they want to act that way and disrespect the family for the sake of some sick old men in Brooklyn then it's their own loss you don't need the JWs there are plenty of other great people in the world to associate with.

I have come to realize that your family is only your family is they behave like family and the same with friends. The JW version of family and friends is twisted. When I feel shunned I feel unloved and hated, but in the minds of the JW who is shunning they are loving you by doing so. How twisted is that?

Just recently the Simpson's had a funny episode where Homer found religion. Anyway, he was going around preaching "GOD LOVES YOU....AND that is why he wants to kill you"

I think they captured religion in a nutshell there.

I have lost my sister and her kids in the JW religion. Her 2 eldest children are Dfd though and are in need of family and I am there for them. I have met other people who treat me with love and respect for who I am and that feels like family to me.

Yeah, losing your nieces and nephews is very hard. The only consolation I hold onto is that when they get older, if they ever smarten up and want to exit the cult, they know there is already someone who left successfully. Hopefully they will also know to contact me for help. I would do anything for those kids, except go back to living a lie.
