I just found out about this last month from a police officer in the county just north of me in Tennessee, I was hoping it wasnt true, but my brother Darin confirmed it the other day. A childhood friend from Ohio who had moved to Tennessee had died last year in a 4-wheeling accident. Steve Burkholder was his name and he was about 6 months older than me. His Mom and my Mom were best friends back in their JW days. I was told by Darin that his younger brother Craig is doing well and has a successful business, and from what I hear none of the family go to the Kingdom Hall anymore. Darin said that Steve was disfellowshipped when he died. His death really hit me hard, and to think they only lived about 30 miles north of Knoxville, I wish I had known because I would have went up and visited them before he died.

I feel for you junctionguy. I've lost childhood friends too.

In my old 'jw' community, the death of a disfellowhipped person was hyped up as an example for why 'not' to leave Jehovah.

I wonder how much 'sympathy' the family received from their 'bros. and sis's"???

We can be sure that he will be resurrected contrary to all non sense that the WTS says.

Can you imagine them saying to his relatives he is gone forever because he disobeyed the WTS?
