nowwhat?
It started in the 1870's then throughout the 20th century. And now here we are 15 years into the 21st century. How many generations is that?! -
kaik
Considering my great-grandfather was born in the 1870's, I would say six. -

Kaik, I was t thinking six, also. My grandfather was born around 1915. I'm at the age that I could have grandchildren. They would be fifth generation from my grandfather. My grandfather's mother was probably born around 1890. Counting from her, my grandchildren would be sixth generation. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say it's been seven generations.
Imagine in the 1920's or the 1960's or the 1980's saying among JWs something like "this system could easily go to the year 2015." If one had said that, he would have been looked at as if he was crazy and/or ignorant and/or weak and/or lacking in faith. If he had persisted in saying it, he could have even been disfellowshipped.

The end has been "close" since the days of the Apostles. -

This centuries thing is a very interesting way to put the doctrine into perspective.
I like the generation count as well.
I bet these would be very convincing to some.
