Did anyone catch the new series 30 Days by Morgan Spurlock the other night? I loved his documentary on McDonalds in Supersize Me. I had to buy it in fact.

For anyone who hasn't heard of it yet, the premise of the show is to put people(and himself) into an almost opposite position of what they are used to. In the first show, Morgan and his fiance moved to Columbus, OH for a month to see if they could live on minimum wage. For me, it opened my eyes even more to the fact that so many people in the world are in the same circumstances and how hard it is to make ends meet. They went there with no credit cards and practically no money. They moved into an apartment with no furniture right above what used to be a crack dealers apartment - bad neighborhood.

Without giving it all away, I would say FX has a winner here. Learning about how other people live, what you can do to help, and learning to accept other people's differences. Finally, what reality television should really be about.

If the rest of the series comes close to being better than this first episode, wow. Morgan has done it again.

I think the "Muslims and America" episode will be a real eye-opener to many people. My gut says that the Judeo-Christian, GWB backing, conservative types may feel their conscience pricking at them if they watch it. Afterall, this administration and much of the media have conditioned us to be wary of the Muslim population. I personally do not harbor resentment towards these people due to others' actions, but many do. That's too bad.

It comes on FX again tonight at midnight. I'll definitely be watching, I'm especially interested since I live in Columbus, the most average average midwestern city. lol

I liked Supersize Me except for the fact that Morgan seems to have a bit of an exhibitionist streak. I really didn't need to see the doc sticking his finger up the guy's butt. :)

On a completely different note, they're playing "Jackass the Movie" uncut on Comedy Central tomorrow night. I can't wait for that after seeing a preview where a guy goes off a ramp on his bike and lands in a bunch of cactuses.

Thanks for the heads up on that Jourles... I saw his documentary, Supersize me, last year and found it to be a real eye-opener. Gosh, I cannot even bring myself to order yogurt at McDonalds let alone the other stuff they are selling...especially after seeing him and his near death chicken mcnugget overdose. Actually, once in a pinch I ordered their version of a veggie burger and it was, well, gross.

He seems like a talented filmaker. I'll try and check the show out.

I wasn't that impressed, I guess my expectations were pretty high after Supersize Me. I'm having trouble pinpointing exactly what it is that I didn't like, but it just seemed like it could have been better.

But he's a funny guy, Alex is cute and funny too, I'm sure I'll be watching other programs in this series.
