What is a Bier Contest in Germany?

  Is this a Beer drinking or making contest? I was looking up the name of a Dub that I grew up with (not really a friend, more an acquaintance) and his name is on a German web site. I know it is him because it says where he is from (City and State) and his first name is spelled unusually and his last name is not common.

  I am curious as to what this is.

  I am sorry but the article is in Spanish and not in German.

  from what I saw, it is a list of participants who are going to drink as much as possible.....

  the contest is about the best beer, but the names list is the jury. and the jury has to taste the beer to vote which is the best one. and to taste it you have to drink it... lots of it ;-)
