Poor kids already dealing with the stress of illness and being hospitalized, only to have this jerk rape her. Poor thing. I hope they get him an lock his ass up with some other inmates that haven't been out in a while.

It is happening now and is ongoing. I meant to highlight that as the issue at hand. The article mentions a 2nd rape occurring in a local hospital in June as well--no further details will be released about that one. Rapes happen in hospitals much more often than people realize, as the experts say in the article. Rapists know they can find vulnerable victims in hospitals.
If your kids are ever in the hospital, stay with them if you can!
Anyways, they caught the perp yesterday. He had just gotten out of jail for robbery. He accompanied some friends to visit the roommate of the victim. Everyone left the room and that's when he did it. They are refusing to give details as to why no one heard screams or anything. The roommate knew the perp only by his nickname, but people cooperated with the police and he was found.

I don't think this is a rampant problem in regular hospitals either, but, unfortunately, I've read of too many incidents of rapes in convalescent homes and nursing facilities that care for the elderly and/or incompetent (sometimes even comatose patients). It's difficult to prosecute these crimes because the mental condition of the victims detracts from their effectiveness as a witness. Many of these crimes go unreported.
Once convicted of a crime of this sort, the perpetrator ought to be locked up for life, without the possibility of parole. We don't need them back on the streets again.

The only reason we know about this one is because someone notified the press. Hospital rapes do happen; we just don't hear about them. Same with college campuses.

In recent years I heard a story about a woman in a coma who was found to be pregnant! I don't know if this was a hospital or nursing home. Of course, an abortion was performed on her. The poor thing!
I don't even want to tell you what I think should happen to the piece of shit who did this to her. I am sure she was probably violated many times but unfortunately she didn't know what was happening to her. -

How sad and sickening this topic is. Yup, let's lock those drug dealers up for an eternity, and allow rapists, pedophiles, murderers, and others who commit violent crimes against people free after a year or two, so they can victimize others. I'm wondering when, if ever, someone with a brain will actually rise up as a politician?
