Are the posters on this board getting younger? It's certainly a lot more light hearted than turgid ole H20 ever was, why even our resident dubs are starting to find a sense of humour!

'Course, I know that most of you here are a fair bit younger than this silver surfer is - even if I do have the physique of a greek god Ha Ha! - But, I just wanted to say well done to all of you have escaped from the confines of that awful org that replaces humanity with dubbanity.

It's almost 30 years since I left the JW's and I dont regret a thing, even my mistakes, because even mistakes can enrichen one's life. To anyone who is leaving the org I would say that the most important thing to do is to make new friends and find fresh interests. Dont worry overmuch about God, if he wants you he knows where to find you.

Contrary to what you might think, I am not an alcoholic. I am a social beer drinker. If you are going to drink alcohol I would always advise partaking of booze that has some food value such as beer or wine.

As far as smoking goes I'm pleased to say that I ceased many years ago. It was almost like being a child again as those long forgotten smells started to filter back into my consciousness again as my sense of smell returned. I hadn't realised how depressing it is to have one of your major senses turned off.

Sex was like being alone in a sweet shop once I had left the dubs. 'Course it can become boring after a while, so I was pleased to find a special Lady who became my mate and is still my best friend. I found that being faithful out of choice was much more valuable than any of the WTBT's societies interfering policies could ever be. What you do in bed with your parner is between just the two of you, it's absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with anyone else.

I think that I'm more honest now. I know that I care for people far more than when I was in a so called "loving" environment like the JW's.

There's lots of things that I want to do still. I want to drive a steam locomotive on a preserved line. I want to build a kit car. I want to explore in Italy.

Yup, there's lots to live for!

struth Englishman, what were you on up in Scotland? Have you gone all philosophical or something?

BTW mate, glad you invited me over to this happy place. Hope you don't regret it.

I think you've described freedom. Do you remember when they told us that if you didn't have rules, then anything goes? (Spoken with a disparaging look). Well we old stagers (old farmers) have found the truth of finding "that being faithful out of choice was much more valuable than any of the WTBT's societies interfering policies could ever be" to quote your words.

    Cheers mate,

    Hey Eman, and welcome back!

I missed you. Yes, there are a lot of younger posters on the board, even younger than ME...can you believe it? I was just saying to hubby that it is so nice to see them here, because it means they have a chance to really enjoy their freedom, and finish growing up in a more natural, healthy way. And thank you for inviting the Ozzie man over here...I think he's as cute as you are.

    Hi Eman,

I've had the same experience as you since leaving the dubs in that I am more honest. But not in picayune matters, but in larger ways.

I do the right thing because I figure it out, not because of Talmud-like rules of the WTS.

I also like people a LOT more. They're not just 'worldly' people that are slated for destruction therefore must be wicked. They're folks just trying to live just like me. It's wonderful!

    Pat
