that we will not see the British version of certain American websites that popped up after 9/11. Weeping angels waving the Union Jack carrying fallen civilian 'heroes" into the arms of Blonde Jesus while Bette Midler midi's play.

It will be interesting to see, however, what kinds of tribute is paid to these innocents. That is, if you don't mind, IG.

I agree IronGland. And what you describe is no "tribute" at all.

Many people feel helpless to do something for others, when their families are blown to smithereens by sickos. They wish to do something to show their support. That is why these people try to pay tribute through their personal web pages.

Admittedly, some of these are tacky and poorly done and remind us of the impromptu crosses, candles and teddy bear shrines which seem to crop up at the site of roadside accidents or where a murder has taken place.

It makes me uncomfortable too, but I won't begrudge people their good intentions in trying to show support for those left behind. Nor would I arrogantly make fun of their efforts. It's crude, and there is far too much crudeness in the world as it is.
