I highly recommend this book "The Orwellian World of Jehovahs Witnesses" by the Bottings. First published in 1984, but since updated. Its available at Amazon.
Very well organized and scholarly.

I read it about 10 years ago. Good book.
1984 was required reading in my high school's English program. I remember reading it around 1975/76 and seeing so many parallels to the WTS. It was right after 1975 came and went, and JWs were wondering why Armageddon never came as predicted, and the WTS was giving lame excuses like "we never said that" and "the brothers had these expectations" that crystallized the definitions of doublespeak and doublethink, and the storyline of how the history books were always being re-written to reflect the current ideology. It was just surreal to me.
