Can someone explain to me, does the word 'motives' have an unusual meaning in jw land? And how does one exactly 'examine ones motives' ? In numerous discussions/arguments with him he will often use that as an excuse for anything, "then you have to look at their motives". Sometimes someone's motives have no bearing on the outcome of anything. If the deed was evil it doesn't matter if they had good intentions or not, the deed was still evil. People can justify anything in their own minds.
I think even the wt has used that as an excuse for false prophecies too. The date was wrong, we were just so eager for the new system, blah, blah.....As if they had good intentions or motives so that somehow excuses the false prophecy or should I say 'error'. That word somehow sounds better in their mind than mistake, wrong, or false.
I do not believe that anywhere in the Bible a prophet was allowed to make 'errors' just because he had 'good motives'. Does anyone know of any scripts. where a false prophet was 'let off' for false phrophecy? Weren't they stoned?

Is the WTS then saying the end justifies the means? Isn't that why they allow theocratic lying, where people are not "entitled" to know the facts?
***
w89 11/1 p. 21 Do Not Yoke Yourselves With Unbelievers ***What
about situations in which a brother or a sister married an unbeliever, and now both of them are serving Jehovah? Still, Jehovah’s principles were violated. Does the end justify the means?***
w79 6/15 p. 13 "It Is Not My Fault!" ***Whether a Christian is dealing with a member of his family or with someone outside the household, he should act in a way that inspires trust. A person bent on accomplishing his purposes regardless of the welfare of others may be tempted to resort to devious schemes, assuming that the desired end justifies the means used to achieve it.
***
w65 11/15 p. 680 "Let God Be Found True" ***So let us today not fool ourselves. The end does not justify the means. If we do bad things just because we like bad things, and then if we try to excuse ourselves by saying that in the long run good will come from such bad things, we shall not escape. God’s righteous judgment will be executed against us just the same.

The jws are audacious enough to redefine the basic and universally accepted meaning of words and play around with silly ideas and mind games, when they get cornered and can't get out with rational wholesome arguments.
They also claim that they have no liability when the dubs follow their advice and refuse to have transfusions and die as a result. That has to entail a strange definition of the word liability.
