Is There Any Evidence To Support The WTBTS's Proclamation?

The WTBTS has consistently claimed that early Christians did not serve in the military.

Where is their evidence to support this when there are many accounts disproving their proclamation?

Fox's Book of Martyrs disputes the WT claims as does evidence of the Roman 12th Legion known as the 'Thundering Legion'.

Even the Bible supports the fact that Christians were in the military as reported when John baptised several of them and remember the Roman centurion whose servant Jesus healed and commended the centurion on his faith.

Let's also not forget the first gentile convert to Christianity, Cornelius. Where in the Bible does it say that he left the military after becoming a Christian?

All of you JW apologists out there are welcome to provide documented evidence that proves the WTBTS claims that no early Christians served in the military.

It's probably something along the lines of "If they stayed in the military, that's evidence that they weren't true Christians after all, thank you for proving our point."

Note also that there is no scriptural reference to Cornelius ever having been assigned microphone duty - an obvious indication that he had incurred the dispproval of the Almighty.

hahahahaha exactly the way the WTS would word it. how often did cornelius pioneer? never. his application was rejected by his P.O. because he refused to quit his service in the military.

Not only the above cases, but, what about when John the Baptist was baptizing? The soldiers clearly asked him, what should we do? His answer was to be content with their wages and not steal from anybody. The reason the very early Christians were not soldiers was because Rome was in fact persecuting Christians. Kind of hard to be a soldier when they want to kill you for your beliefs. There is nothing specifically stating that you cannot be a soldier. As the above instances show. carla

Also to join the Roman army you had to take an oath to the Roman emperor as your god.
